Why is Medeau different than traditional perfume?
Medeau combines fine fragrance with modern science. Rather than assuming natural is always better, we use a considered balance of botanicals and bioidentical molecules, choosing each for safety, purity, sustainability and performance.
Natural extracts and essential oils can contain allergens and contaminants, and some require significant amounts of land, water and plant material to produce. Our bioidentical ingredients have the same molecular structure as those found in nature, but are created in controlled environments for greater consistency and purity.
Every fragrance is clean, non-toxic, 100% vegan and fully tested, formulated without phthalates, parabens, nitro musks, artificial dyes, formaldehyde, carcinogens, known endocrine disruptors.
How long does the scent last? Staying power?
Medeau is designed to last through much of your day.
Staying power varies depending on skin chemistry, how much you apply and where you apply it.
It is a perfume made with natural and bioidentical fragrance oils, designed to wear closer to the skin rather than overpower the space around you. The scent may soften sooner than some traditional perfumes that are formulated to linger on skin and clothing for very long periods.
That also makes Medeau easy to make your own throughout the day. Refresh at lunch if you’d like a stronger scent, layer fragrances to suit your mood, or switch scents as you move from day to evening.
What's the bottle made from?
Our bottles are 98% recyclable and use 25% recycled glass. We use aqueous-based, non-toxic, food-standard paint, the most environmentally conscious coating on the market.
We only use FSC paper.
Our fragrances are formulated and bottled in the UK, supporting British businesses and reducing our carbon footprint. Our commitment to small batch production means nothing is wasted.
Can I wear this while pregnant/breastfeeding?
When Medeau's founder was pregnant and searching for a luxury scent that was non-toxic, she simply couldn't find one.
And so Medeau was born.
Our fragrances contain no toxic ingredients, dyes or endocrine disruptors - so enjoy them whenever you like.
Does toxin-free mean no headaches?
Because we don't use toxins and are incredibly careful with our ingredients, it's extremely rare for our fragrances to cause sensitivity issues.
Most wearers are delighted to find that Medeau fragrances are among the few they can happily wear every day.
